  • Emotional Support

Emotional support is paramount during the birthing process. As a doula, I provide a non-judgmental and safe space for individuals to express their fears, hopes, and concerns. I offer a listening ear and a comforting presence, creating an environment where clients feel empowered and supported. Through affirmations (that I will show you how to create), encouragement, and active listening, I help ease anxiety and provide emotional stability.

  • Physical Support

Physical support is also crucial during birthing. A doula is well-versed in a range of comfort measures including massage, relaxation techniques, and positioning support. I work with my clients to identify their preferences for birth and ensure they are as comfortable as possible. Additionally, during labor, I may advocate for my clients and communicate their needs and desires to the medical team.

  • Birth partner support and guidance

I fully innerstand the importance of having a knowledgeable and compassionate birth partner during labor and delivery. However, even the most supportive birth partner can feel overwhelmed, unsure, or simply need a break. This is where a doula can provide invaluable support. A doula is essentially a professional birth companion who works alongside the birth partner throughout the entire childbirth process. One of the main ways a doula helps is by supporting the birth partner, whether that’s via emotional support or physical comfort measures.

  • Informational Support

I provide informational support which includes prenatal coaching, intervention awareness, newborn education, and chest feeding education (see prenatal services for chest feeding consultations). I help clients understand their birth options and make informed decisions about their care. This includes providing evidence-based information about medical interventions, helping clients understand the stages of labor, and assisting in crafting a birth plan that aligns with. Making sure my client is being told factual information is important to me therefore I will go above and beyond to make sure you are able to advocate yourself based on your proposed birth plan.

  • Comfort and pain relief

We will use different techniques such as massages, and breathing exercises. As a doula, one of my primary roles is to provide comfort and pain relief to expectant mothers during childbirth. I believe that every woman deserves to have a birth experience that is as comfortable and pain-free as possible, and it is my job to help make that happen. Also, as a hypnobirthing practitioner, I am able to teach you the techniques that will help you to achieve a pain-free birth.

There are numerous comfort measures that I use to help my clients throughout their labor and delivery. Some of these measures include massage, gentle touch, aromatherapy, visualization techniques, and guided relaxation exercises. By using these techniques, I am able to help my clients relax and feel more at ease, which can help to reduce anxiety levels and decrease pain.

In addition to these techniques, I also work with my clients to help them understand their pain management options. Even though I am more of a holistic doula I will provide you with information about different pain relief methods, such as epidurals, nitrous oxide, and IV pain medication. I help my clients to make informed decisions about their pain management preferences, and I support them in communicating their needs and desires to their healthcare providers.

Ultimately, my goal as a doula is to help my clients have a positive birth experience. By providing comfort and pain relief, I am able to help them feel more empowered and in control of their births.
